The Master Package Corporation was established in Owen, Wisconsin in 1926 by the lumber barons of Wausau, Wisconsin to manufacture fibre shipping drums that shipped via railroad around the country. In 1953 Wilbert J. Mahoney, Sr. purchased the company. His
son-in-law, Norbert Pabich, purchased the company from him
in 1976, with his wife, Jeanne.
In the early 1980’s, a second manufacturing facility was opened next to interstate I-94 in Menomonie, Wisconsin in order to expedite orders easier via truck as well as increase production.
Norbert is still very much present in the day to day operations of The Master Package Corporation working along side his son, Mark, at the Menomonie plant. The Owen facility is now primarily used as a storage facility for raw materials.
